Period Delay

There are times in your life when getting your period can be even more inconvenient than usual.

You might be going away on holiday, getting married, taking part in an important sporting event or something similar.

If this is the case, you might like to delay your period. Although there isn’t a guaranteed way to delay your period, there are many ways we can make this more likely.

  • If you’re taking the combined contraceptive pill, you can take two packets back to back (without the week break). How you do this will depend on which pill you take.

If you're taking a progestogen-only contraceptive pill, you can't delay your period by taking two packets back-to-back. However, you may be able to switch to the combined contraceptive pill or take another medication to delay your period.

If you don’t take a contraceptive pill, you may still be able to delay your period.

Please seek advice from a healthcare professional who can help you find the right solution for you.
