If you are looking to travel abroad for a holiday, to see loved ones or for work you may require a COVID-19 Fit to Fly Certificate. As we know people may be asymptomatic with the virus, so unaware they have it whilst travelling, a simple COVID-19 test before you travel can ensure you do not have the virus therefore not spreading it further.
Please note this test is not suitable if you think you have COVID-19 or you are showing any signs of COVID-19. If this is the case, please do not come into our pharmacies and stay at home. Instead follow the latest government guidance.
To obtain the Fit to Fly Certificate you will need to book an appointment with your local pharmacy*. Please ring us in plenty of time with your flight date and time and we can advise when a test should be performed.
On your appointment date we can provide you a COVID-19 test within our pharmacy. To perform the test a member of staff will swab the back of your throat and nose.
Our team will then post the test for you (free of charge) and your results will be returned via email.
If your results come back negative you will be electronically sent a notification which will act as your Fit to Fly Certificate confirming your ability to travel.
Please always check the country you are travelling to as restrictions may vary in different locations. Visit the Governments foreign travel advice website for more information.
*Our COVID-19 PCR tests are currently only available in these select pharmacies. Please contact the pharmacy direct to book your appointment.

Understanding your test results
If your test comes back negative this means you do not have COVID-19 and can continue with your travel plans. An email notification confirming your results will act as your certificate.
If your result comes back positive you need to follow the national government guidance. You must self-isolate and cancel your travel plans. Find out more information on the NHS website.
There is a possibility your test may come back inconclusive or void which means it is not possible to say if you have the virus. There are several reasons why this might happen but does unfortunately mean you will need to take another test. If this is the case, it may affect your travel plans which we could not take responsibility for.
