Taking care of your skin is an important part of your self-care ritual. By taking the time to take care of your appearance, you’ll look and feel at your vibrant best and be ready to take on the world.
With this in mind, here are some easy skin care tips that can help you feel gorgeous this spring.
1. Choose the right skincare products for your skin type
Whether you struggle with an oily T-zone or your skin is fragile and dry, you need to choose the skin care products that are designed for your skin.
For blemish-prone or oily skin types, look for a cleanser containing salicylic acid, glycolic acid or benzoyl peroxide. For drier types, opt for a hydrating cleanser that will be kinder to your sensitive skin.
2. Moisturise, moisturise, moisturise
No matter what your skin type, you still need to keep your skin moisturised throughout the day. This will help maintain the delicate balance of your skin and prevent problems from popping up.
For your face, look for a light, hydrating moisturiser that won’t clog your pores or overwhelm your senses with heavy fragrances. For your body, any moisturiser that leaves you feeling pampered and your skin silky soft is always the best option.
3. Try to stop touching your face!
When you touch your face, you transfer bacteria to your skin, causing breakouts, worsening lines and wrinkles, and increasing your chances of contracting viruses like the flu and COVID-19. We know it’s easier said than done but try and discipline yourself if you can.
4. Drink plenty of water
Drinking enough water will ensure that your face looks more radiant, you smooth out wrinkles and you glow with health. Keep a reusable, eco-friendly bottle with you at all times and ensure you’re sipping throughout the day to keep looking at your best.
5. Exfoliate a couple of times per week.
For a brighter, more vibrant looking complexion, use a gentle exfoliating product such as the Bomb Cosmetic Scrubs once or twice per week. Try a small amount of the product at first to see how your skin reacts and make sure you only use facial exfoliators for your face, not your body.
6. Zap those spots
Heal blemishes, get rid of redness and dry up spots by using a specially designed product. Products containing tea tree oil are an excellent natural option, or you can use something containing benzoyl peroxide for a more intensive treatment.
7. Use sunscreen
As we’ve all seen on those lovely sunny days, it’s easy to underestimate the strength of the sun in the UK. It’s far too easy to suffer from sunburn if we’re not careful and end up worsening wrinkles and accelerating the ageing process. That’s why you should always wear sunscreen, even on cloudy days.
8. Eat well
Great skin starts from within, so make sure you’re eating a healthy balanced diet. Include foods that nourish your skin such as flax seeds, nuts and oily fish and avoid foods with a high glycaemic index.
